God blessed us with two special services: on Sunday morning we were able to share our presentation in addition to performing our “normal” duties of leading the song service and playing the piano as we have since the very first service two and a half years ago. For the evening service Pastor Matheny allowed Justin the honor to preach one more time. The day was concluded with what every good Baptist church does best – an after church fellowship.
As I write this I find myself struggling with the words that can express what this place means to us. The best word I can think of is HOME. When we arrived in Yuma for the very first time nearly three years ago, this place might have well as been a foreign country. But God has done an amazing work and formed a church with the most wonderful, loving people: people who we love dearly; who now hold a special place in our hearts. We did not want to say goodbye and thank God we didn’t have to; we just said, “See you later.”
On a much lighter note, we are anticipating our very first visit to Frisco, TX this week. We will be able to be in Frisco and the surrounding area for about three days. We are looking forward to being able to get a better lay of the land and hopefully get an idea of a possible location for the church. This time next week we should be able to share some pictures and more details, so stay tuned and please keep praying as we make our way to Oklahoma via Frisco.
